What should I look for when throwing a spoon?

What type of spoon? Flutter? Jigging? Casting? Weedless?

It's the 6th sense magnum spoon

In a perfect world you should look for shad on points, humps, ledges, etc. during a time when there is power generation or a let down of some kind that would be creating current. 

Look for pelagic baitfish that are 5" to 7" long and flutter or yo-yo  the spoon through them.
