I want to go fishing, but it is raining, last time it poured and two of my reels didn't work as well, but they were submerged in water. Can i use a casting reel without issues in the rain, it is not pouring.

I have never experienced problems with any reels in the rain.

Mine fish just fine in rain. I wouldn't recommend letting them be submerged I cant see that "helping" anything. 

I haven't had issues fishing with any of mine in the rain either. If it's a downpour all day, or they get submerged it might be a good idea to break them down and relube them though. 

My reels have been getting rained on for a hundred years. Never been a problem.
