lund boats

Featured Replies

I was lookin into lund boats the other day and i was impressed with them.  does anyone fish out of a lund boat and if so what is your opinion on them.  and what is a good model that they make

Up here in Maine, Lund is a very popular brand of boat. It may be the case across the whole northern part of the country. They make some great multi-species models that can deal with a variety of water conditions. Most of the ones up here are the deep V style that people use for everything from trolling for salmon to duck hunting. I certainly like the one that Al Lindner fishes out of on Anglers Edge. One of the shows follows that wallye tour and you see some sweet Lund boats on that program. I haven't seen a true bass boat from them because it's just not a common style sold around here. If they are anything like the rest of the line up its one tough boat.

I have never owned a Lund, but they're extremely popular in northern United States and Canada.

They've been on top for a good many years, which speaks highly of their quality.

Actually, were it not for Crestliner, which I ultimately choose, I would have bought a Lund.

You'll love it! I purchased a Lund this past year instead of a bass boat and it was the best choice I could have made. They're no speed demons but the ride is second to none especially when the water is rough.

Lund's are extremely popular here in southern Ontario I think largely because of their versatility and durability. The multi-species approach is nice too.

I bought a 2005 Mr.Pike 18 with a 150 Optimax and I have dragged the tub through 6 inches of water with my 101 Maxxum. So shallow water isn't an issue.

It sucks getting blown away tournament morning by everything, even the Rangers , but you'll be nice and dry and not a bead of sweat.

Enjoy shopping.

You will love a Lund.  I have a 1993 16' Lund Explorer (today's Rebel), powered by a 30 HP Johnson.  I am very pleased with my boat.  I've been on some pretty rough water in Kentucky Lake and it handled it well.  Right now I am suffering from a bad case of "Two-Foot-Itis".  Soooo I'm looking at a Lund Explorer 1800 powered by a 115 HP Evinrude E-Tec.  I would like the Pro V 1800, however, cost is way too high.  Just can't justify over $30,000 for a boat.

That was a wise decision, Square1. I used to run a 14-ft open boat (rowboat) in the ocean

but nearly swamped a 17-ft bass boat in Lake Erie. A bass boat is little more

than a stable platform at rest, but when you're underway in a chop, especially in a headsea,

you can't beat a modified-V utility boat (pike boat). I love em :-*
