Welp, you guys got to me, dispite being almost exclusively a soft plastics guy, I just received a WP90 in the mail  

My plan is to fish it under some docks, how sturdy is this thing?  Will a single hit on a piling destroy it or can it take a little abuse?  When I throw a t-rig under there I like to hit the pilings both as accuracy practice and because it seems like having the lure just drop in the water gets me bit more often. Obvously I will not do this with a hard bait, but I do wanna throw it as close to them as is safely possiable.

I've smacked mine on the side of my boat a few times, no damage done. I wouldn't purposely hit it against anything hard though. I've had more luck under overhanging trees than docks. I'm sure both will produce at the right time though.

You won't regret it...it's a VERY fun lure to fish with, very versatile as in you can chug it like a popper, do a steady slow retrieve or horse it back in creating a TON of commotion. Have fun with it :).

I've had absolutely ZERO luck with my perch 90.

Smallies absolutely crush the plopper 90. Steady retrieve.

Patience grasshoppa. Keep at it. Try weedlines, open water and parallel to shore early morning if you're bank fishing. Those are my 3 favorite techniques for it.

I've dragged mine across rocks pretty routinely this last week as my favorite pond has dropped dramatically and exposed a ton of hard stuff and only a little paint under the nose has come off. Very solid bait.

I've been using the whopper plopper for about 2 years now (I think). I'm a bit more comfortable throwing a black cavitron, I think it's got better sounds and vibrations. But the fact that you can stop a plopper and twitch it is a pretty solid advantage over a buzzbait. 

I did lose my plopper a bit ago, had monkey butt, going to buy powder next. Does anyone prefer the 130 over the 90? And now they've got a silent one?

Keep at it, my wife just caught her PB, a 4lb.-er last week with it and than I caught another 2lb.-er with it soon after. It WILL produce!!!

I've thrown my 90 on 4 different times and not even anything remotely close to a bite. I've reeled it slow, fast, in between, stop and go, and popped it. Notta.

Just got home from catching my new PB (5.02 lbs) on the blue blood WP 90.  I also caught my smallest LMB and a seagull!  I was about ready to give up on the WP as it hasn't produced the past 2 times I have gone fishing but decided to throw it some more.  I found it works really well on heavily fished ponds and lakes.

Proof that it works. Like any lure type, it's not always going to work but when it does you have to love it. Very nice Cav.

Keep trying guys, don't give up on it yet! Caught my biggest Plopper bass today, but did not weigh it. What a fun fight!

Great advice!  If you need to cover a lot of water this is the lure to use.

Absolutely! Great to cover a lot of water, and I'd imagine it will really get bedding bass agitated. I love throwing this thing around laydowns and under low hanging branches. I've caught multiple pike on this too, but that's the risk you run in WI lol. 

I finally encountered the hook problem I have read about on posts in this forum.  I was fighting a 1-2 lb fish this morning when the o ring on the front hook broke.  Fortunately the fish was stuck on the back hook so I was able to remove the front hook from its mouth before releasing it.

Any suggestions on replacement hooks?

We caught 3 more last night on the 90 Perch...2.5lb., 3lb. and 3.5lb.

Threw it all morning at a 4 acre reservoir with no luck.

d**n.  Unfortunately like any other lure it isn't perfect.  I've seen a school of bass completely ignore my WP and wanted to scream!

Keep at it.  

People swear the 130 is better than the 90 but I can't get a bite on the 130 to save my life.

i like the 130 better just because i like how it floats easier than the 90.

I think I am going to get a 130 in the color of the 90s I am having success with just to see what happens.

might as well get a double plopper too. its pretty fragile but you can use it in thicker areas where the regular plopper picks up too much debris.

I like the way that sounds for double plopper as far as debris and may just end up trying it out.  I've heard the wires get bent very easily after fish strikes.  Is that true?

yes it is, but after fiddling with it a few times you kind of know which way to bend it to swim correctly.

My last few times out I only had one or two bites with the plopper but that doesn't mean I won't still throw it. I've got to give my 130 another chance as I gave up on that one quickly.
