Gone with the wind

Featured Replies

I've allowed 2 hats to blow off in the lake the last 2 weeks. Gone years without that happening and now twice back to back. How many hats have yall lost through the years? Im probably around 5-7 hats in the drink. With a low recovery rate.

Havnt had that happen yet and hopefully don't for a long time. I really like my fishing hat. Took me a long time to find a black Stl cards hat.

I have lost three over the years.  One went into the lake, I lost the second one, and the third one got tossed into the washing machine and ruined.

I've lost several...one this summer.

I lost one just a few weeks ago.  That was a first for me.  I normally take it off before we are about to run.  This time I just turned it backwards...That was a mistake.  I turned my head to look at something and off it went.  We circled back...but it was gone.  Guntersville takes down another.  Good thing it was my back up hat.

Ive lost 1 and it was a discontinued local minor league baseball team. Best lookin hat I have ever owned, Columbia river is an unforgiving place!

I have lost one of almost everything while running the boat.  I have learned to sit on my hat, strap down the rods, stow old water bottles, dont leave costa glasses on top of your head, and don't leave your cell phone on the deck, while running a top speed.  I learn a lot by practical experience.:mad1::mad3::mad12:

No hats (that I couldn't recover) but my "atlas" of regional lakes went flying and took a dunking about a month ago.  It's difficult to dry out a ream of paper without it molding.

School of hard knocks; seems nobody ever graduates!

My buddy and I were fishing our first tournament.  It was almost sun up and we were excited to get going. Our boat number was called and we took off.  My buddy was driving and lost his hat probably 200 yards from the starting boat.  We circled around probably 4 times before retrieving the hat.  Meanwhile im sure we looked like a bunch of amateurs to the rest of the boats all around us.  Maybe we should have just went home considering we were the lightest bag to weigh, haha.

Lost one last year on the BassResource Roadtrip to Toledo Bend (Jack Yate's Classic).....that was the first time.

Then lost another at this year's BassResource Roadtrip to Toledo Bend (Jack Yate's Classic) while fishing with the same buddy.......He was very nice and turned around and retrieved it for me.

I will be more careful at the 2017 BassResource Roadtrip to Toledo Bend (Jack Yate's Classic).
