Right now, I can get a G Loomis IMX or E6X for a pretty cheap price. What series should I get for a Jig rod? How about a Dropshot? A Senko Rod?

the IMX will be the better rod for all techniques, but they are considerably more expensive.

 

here in Canada E6Xs go for 240 Canadian and the IMX's are over $400.

That said, I have the MBR843 classic mag bass E6X rod and I really like it.

its a win win with either of these series, but one is much lighter on the pocketbook but you will get better sensitivity etc. with the more expensive IMX

You have a couple of choices... Buy the e6x now, like it, then upgrade later. Or..... Go ahead and buy the imx now... In either case, I am in love with the 843 and 844mbr rods. Especially the 844. 

For a bottom contact Rod, go for the higher quality. Get the IMX. You won't regret it. I have one that gets used every time I'm on the water. 

Hmmmm, I can get a Ferrari real cheap but should I get the VW Beetle for the same price ? ...
