Spinnerbait trailers

Featured Replies

I'm still stocking the tacklebox and trying to get some goodies for the spinnerbaits. Anyone use them? If so what brands and styles?

I love thowing spinnerbaits. I have some $1 that walmart has.  I don't know their weight but I usually change the skirts and do some tweeking on them.  I have 3 of the 1/4 oz culprits.  I got 1 from a guy who uses Secret weapons to try out.  I just bought a 1/2 oz Stanley Wedge Plus.  I usually use a grub as a trailer.  I have been running it through my mind to try a super fluke or just a regular fluke at some point.  My favorite is a white Zoom Fat Albert.

Spinnerbaits are my #1 confidence bait! For me, the only time I add a trailer is in stained to muddy water and want to add a bit more size. In those situations, I'll add a 3-4" single tail grub. I have some older BPS Triple Ripple tail grubs that do the trick for me.

Spinnerbaits are also my #1 search bait.I generally fish without a trailer, but as has been said, dirty water and when I want to present a larger profile I'll go with a ripple tail grub mostly just to get their attention.

My favorite spinnerbait trailer is a very sharp 4/0 hook. :)

When I first started bass fishing and using sb, I always added part of a 6" worm as a trailer. A lot of times the fish would grab the worm. I don't normally use a trailer hook for fear of hang-ups. I quit using the worms and it didn't seem to change the bite at all...

Anything can be used as a trailer here a short list of what I use  :)

Single or twin tail grubs

Zoom Swimming Chunks

Luck ''E'' Strike Clunn Spinner Bait Trailer

Uncle Josh Kicker Frog & Bass Strip

I don't use trailer hooks.  Never had a fish swipe at my spinnerbait.  They seem to eat it all the way for me.Just my experiences.
