BFS - Bait Finesse System

It is a style of fishing that's very popular with the Japanese anglers. It's commonly associated with light baits under 5 grams,light line in the #4-8 range, and light or even ultra light power rods.

For me is was Big Foolish Spending, it was fun but wish I would have just put the money into a good spinning combo.

I got it confused, turned a couple letters around. Shimano(stupid auto spelling correct on my Android phone) before had the BSF spool n some of their casting reels.

Very same for me.  I do still enjoy the cranking combo but not sure what I'll do with the others yet.  Definitely something I could have done without.  Was fun but the novelty has worn off.

I have one bfs combo (px type r with diy spool and klx finesse rod).  I bought the rod and reel used so I spent $300 so not too much.  It definitely can get pretty expensive though.  I prefer casting gear over spinning because for me, it's more efficient and enjoyable.  I'm more accurate and can make more casts.
