Braid test opinion

Featured Replies

Im currently using 1 bait casting set up for all the fishing. Im currently using 30lbs test braid and i will be getting new line soon.

I usually use chatter/spinner baits, jigs,  the 130 plopper and occasionally frogs when conditions call for it.

would you go lighter or heavier test for these applications and why?

thanks for reading.

I would go 40 or 50 due to the frogs and jigs.  You would get less dig when hittingvthem hard.

^^ I always run 50lb braid.

30lb. is all I use, except for punching thick weeds.  I would base your choice on the type of presentations you use most and the type, or lack of, cover you encounter frequently.

40-50 lbs Power Pro on all my frog and punching setups.
