Shaky head craws

Featured Replies

I bet on certain days you will have a better catch rate with the skirt. All depends on what they want that day.

For me though, I like rage tail craws a lot

I saw a TV show where they were using the Menace on a shaky head and catching fish. I think of the shakey head as another version of the Jigworm, you can use any bait and fish it in different ways.

I would think any stand up Jighead is kind of a shaky head, you can shake it, pop it, swim it, stroke it.....I would think any bait works if it lands in the right place right time, the Megastrike Shaky heads make any bait stand vertical, same with the Evolution Jig heads.

I agree. I had been limiting myself with only using trick worms on the shaky head. But anything you would Texas rig would work and that's pretty much how I'm using it now since I feel so much more than with a sliding t-rig.

Yes, I love putting chigger craws on any shaky head. I prefer the three inch version of the chigger craw, but that's just because I fish it in creeks for spots smallies. Look for rocks and small patches of dead grass, where the hungry smallies are. When I do this, I use a 1/8-1/4 oz jig head.

I like the Damiki Air Craws because of the hollow floating claws.  If you want to get fancy you can even stuff the hollow claws with alka seltzer to get some light bubbles.

Paca Craw's are hollow bodied!

What size shaky heads do you guys like to throw craws with? I've got some 1/8 ounce Owner ones coming in the mail to try with YUM Genie worms. I've never tried the shaky head technique yet. I already have chigger craws, rage menace, and punch craws in my creature box.

1/4 works pretty good for me. Right now I'm using it just like a jig, which is basically all it is without a skirt

Paca Craw on a Mega Strike shaky head.

Anything buoyant on a true stand up head has always been the most productive for me.

I like the Zoom Z-craw and the always great rage craws.

I'll throw a rage craw or a Z-craw on a shakeyhead if I haven't been having much luck on a jig.

Heck yeah they are really effective. Zoom Ultravibe Speed Craw, Rage Craws from the baby up to the Lobster, and all sizes of Paca Craw. Might be more effective on smallies, but I've caught plenty of largemouth on them and a fair amount of walleye, trout, and pike. Even a few jumbo perch.
