Soft Bait Setup

Recommended Posts

Okay, so currently I am looking for a soft bait setup. I primarily use stick baits, every so often, i'll throw a power tail, a D Bomb, etc. Is it worth getting 2 different setups? I get tired of needing to switch from Texas rigs/wacky rigs/shakey head. However I don't switch often. Should I get a separate setup for soft baits other than stick baits?

I fish a variety of soft plastics on a 3/0 wide gap . Senkos (tx & wacky), hula grubs, flukes, rage toads, swing impact (I insert homemade "nail' weights ) trick worms...

I mainly use these on spinning gear. With braid. Occasionally a floro leader on a light bait .

That's alot of baits to use on one set up!

But if you have the money..  why not ?

It helps me to have both. I don't really have 2 rods just for this but will often have 2 rods rigged with plastics if that's what there biting that day. To me wacky rig is the best follow up bait and if I ever get hung up on a really good lay down or brush pile and I believe there to be fish there, I will pick up the other rod and continue to fish it instead of ruining the spot trying to retrieve lure right away.

My soft plastics rod is a Fenwick elite tech 7'3" mh/xf. It normally has a 1/4-3/8oz t-rig on it.

I have two identical setups

One for unweighed to 1/8 oz

One for weighted; 3/16-1/2 oz

May I ask what those setups are?
