Anyone tried the new versions? i remember the Elite Tech smallmouth were good rods. Was looking at the 7'3" H XF for a flipping/ swimbait rod.

I have the elite tech bass spinning rod, 6'10" ML. It's really good for dropshots and lighter presentations and I have no complaints. Very light and sensitive. I have no idea how their beefier version are but I'd assume they are equally as nice. 

love the Elite tech bass rods, I'm actually looking in buying the 7'3 heavy too, for jigs, frogs and texas rigs! I think you will be pleased with it - super sensitive, well balanced and pretty light!

I have th mlxf spinning and like it a lot.  never tried the casting.

I bought the 7'6" MH/F ETB casting and wasnt impressed with it. Balance was off too much and pretty much a dud on sensitivity. I returned it and went with 7'6" MH/F Word Class and have been very pleased with this rod. Being lighter and yet better balanced made huge difference in performance feel in hand. Plus basically got it for $200

I love my Elite Tech Smallmouth rods.  I have the 6'9" ML that I will make the case is one of the best spinning rods ever made.  I was also fortunate to be able to buy a second rod in that model on closeout from a local tackle shop and it still has its plastic wrap and tags on it.  I was told the reason they discontinued them was because the profit margin was not enough...in other words, they should have been charging more for the quality of the rod.  Not sure if the blanks changed with the new Elite Tech Bass but it looks like the ET Walleye series carry a similar blank/actions to what the Smallmouth series used to be.

Cant comment on the casting rods or the newer version of the rods. But the Green/Moss colored blank spinning rods, are probably some of the best rods I have ever fished. I would put them up against any sub $200 rod.
