Featured Replies

does anyone have a 60hp,3 cylinder mercury 2 stroke..i have a 2004 model on my nitro and have been unhappy with it pretty much since i got it..it starts hard.. stalls while idling sometimes..also it doesn't seem to run smooth when first starting to get on plane..rpm's top out at 5100..range should be 5000-5500..just got it tuned up for the second time in 2 years and have been told by 2 dealers the 3 cylinders are tempermental..was also told by oringinal dealer it ran rough because it wasn't broken in yet.....the evinrude on my other boat put's this mercury to shame...this is the first mercury i've had and shall be the last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have 60 horse Mariner that I bought new in '96.  It runs great.  I have never even had it tuned up.  I change the plugs once a year and do all the other maintenance myself.  RPMs are going to depend on the prop you're running.
