I currently have Sunline FX2 spooled on a cpl reels. Now I went w 50lb because I use a fluro leader. The reason I went w 50lb is because before buying it I researched braid on here and read a lot of guys complain or not use braid because of wind knots. It's more often windy on the lake than not, so I figured I would try the 50lb and I have not had any problems or one wind knot. I want to purchase some of the new Sunline BX2 and would rather fish the 35lb because of the diameter. Are you guys having problems w the 35lb in the wind? Any of you run the 50lb like me besides on a frog rod? And last does anyone know if TW did anything w Sunline last yr for their 25 days of Christmas? I wouldn't think they will at least not w the newest stuff so figured I would grab it at 20% off. Thanks guys.

The group I fish with have never complained about wind knots and they run 10 to 20 lb PP.....not saying it doesn't happen, just haven't witnessed it in the last 2 yrs

I normally use 2-10 lb braid for bass on spinning gear.  If you always [1] close your bail by hand and [2] make sure your line isn't crossing the face of your spool before you cast, you'll never get a wind knot.  Often [1] prevents you from having to do  [2] but not always.

Guess a wind knot wasn't the proper term, I meant wrapping around your guides or whatever other problems you may encounter using braid on a baitcaster in the wind.

I have never had a wind knot on casting gear, using 20, 30, 40, 50 b braid, in winds from 0 to over 30mph. The only time I have had wind knots is on spinning gear with light braid (10, 15 lb), and even then it's been rare other than one specific type of line that I suspect was a dud spool. So you should be fine using 35lb. The only time I use 50lb is on frogs and punching. Otherwise it's 30 and 40 primarily. With 15 on spinning usually. As far as TW I wouldn't count on them having better deal than 20% off during their 25 days of Christmas.

Braid shouldn't ever wrap around your guides unless it's given slack regardless of lb test or brand. It can happen, but it's typically with baits that might have a slack line during the retrieve like bottom contact baits. 

Not sure where the term "wind knot" originated, but it is not what I experience.  What I have is knots or tangles that originate as loose loops on the spool.  I think that line twist makes the problem worse.  (yes, braid is affected by line twist)  Techniques that allow loose line to be retrieved onto the spool are problematic.
