Shimano Rod parts?

Recommended Posts

my question is very specific.  I want current shimano reel seats to replace my older ones.  I have several Compre rods that have cork which is beginning to shrink/tighten.  I want the same reel seats that are on my Cumara's and newer versions of the compre.  I have looked at other reel seats at mudhole but nothing is as minimal as the Shimano ones.  Anyone know if i can get my hands on these as repair parts?    Here is the reel seat I want to go to.

I think Shimano uses mostly Fuji parts and there is a two part Fuji real seat sold by Mudhole and other rod building suppliers.  I'd take a close look at the seat to see if there is a manufacturer stamp on it somewhere and go from there.

You'd have to strip the entire rod to mount the new seat in addition to getting the old one off. You'd be way ahead of the game to build new rods.

Instead of finding or replacing the seats, just replace the cork. With a little work on your part going more minimal that that seat is easy.

I don't think you're going to be able to buy this reel seat.

hmmm, i don't think i can get it either and i am over cork.  My current rods have AWESOME blanks.  They are older Shimano but the TC4 crankbait blanks.  Very had to lose fish once they are hooked on these.  I am either going to cut the handles off completely and re do them or possibly use the heat shrink wraps mudhole has.  either way, that large cork foregrip is coming off.

Hold on.....
