Grandsons first fish

Featured Replies

Took my 3 yr old grandson Lane out to a local farm pond awhile back and he caught his first fish. In fact he caught 3 decent bass. I had bought him a Zebco Dock Demon but he just couldn't get the hang of casting. So I would cast my bait caster and he reeled it in.

Sorry bout that sideways pic. Not sure what happened there.

Good deal. Go get him a lunker. The pic didn't show on my end.

Didn't see the pic, unless you were fishing at midnight, but either way, tell him congrats.  I had the same with my then four year old nephew over the summer.  He is a dedicated angler now and tells me how he wants to go walleye fishing. No idea where he even came up with that since I've never caught (or would know how) a walleye in my life.

Can't see picture, either, but congrats to your grandson!

Those times are so exciting for the elder and youngster.

Congradulations to Lane and you. I inherited 2 grandchildren through marriage, a boy at 10 and a girl at 7. Took a family outing and went fishing. Got both a special spin cast outfit, Spiderman and Barbie. I helped them bait and cast out. The grandson caught a bluegill immediately and both kids were excited. By the time I helped them get both baits and recasted out they put their outfits down and wanted to go play elsewhere. I have asked them to go fishing every week since then and they refuse. I was hoping to have that bond with them with the greatest hobby of all. They love WWE Raw.  LOL
