Looks like my bank balance might drop a bit in May...;)

Here's the specs:

It is interesting though that the advertising copy on the JDM Shimano web site says the 'first BFS round reel" - did they already forget about the discontinued Cardiff 50/51S DC and the Conquest (2000) 50/51 Shallow Special ?

It will be fun to compare this to the existing collection....

"Sensual winding with smoothness added to the rigidity sense."

Well that bit of ad copy sold me, time to start saving up my yen!

For real though, if it really works for super light lures and is saltwater rated, it looks perfect for the brackish/salt water combo I have been wanting.  The RH model isnt available until May, so there will be a few months for all you wrong-handed jerks to give it a good testing for us correct-handed folks.  B)

42mm handle??  That can't be right!  Must be only half.

Yep. For some reason, Shimano Japan likes to specify the radius of the handle (from center of the driveshaft hole to center of the knob shaft) instead of the overall length (center-to-center on the knob shafts).

You're about a month behind the 8 ball. This stuff is all over numerous other websites :P

There's a Chronarch MGL, Scorpion DC and a 300 size Curado coming too!

Looks like if I want to use a round reel for finesse I will have to stick with my Black Max 1600C as I know Shimano will be charging more than I can pay.

Good looking Sahara

Or you can get a 1500-2500C and trick it out. I'm going to build a couple more 1500C's and a 2500C all with IAR since I was able to find brake plates.

Subsonic fantastically well as a bar, of course. When the Bobcats turned to catch Messenger ideal job Finesse then see many of you will understand without having to explain anything to protracted.

Sign me up. How can I resist, when the Bobcats catch the Messenger?

They had me at subsonic!

That is for the 17 Conquest BFS HG......

Jun's comment: This BFS has its body from Conquest 100, and spools and brake systems is from 16Aldebaran BFS, to make a solid ultra finesse bait caster. Spool is smaller than that of Conquest 100 reels.

As to size this what Jun at Japan Tackle had to say.......

I preordered one but am super on the fence about actualy buying one.  I have never ussd a round reel before and am suddenly worried that i will hate the ergonomics of it.

With the way Shimano slopes the palming side down it truly is a game changer for round reels. I have a 200 size Calcutta D that palms like a 100 and I love fishing it. With the BFS being smaller in general I doubt you'll have a problem with it.
