Shimano Casitas Vs. Daiwa Tatula

Featured Replies

Both are the same price on Amazon and I am looking for a new reel in the 7.x:1 ratio. I think that it will go on my medium fast rod. It will be used in these techniques:

~ Senko

~ Jerkbait

~ Fluke

~ Swimbait

~ Crankbait

~ Walking Bait

~ Finesse Jig

~ Popper

IMO it is going to come down entirely to how each reel feels in your hands. Both are high quality reels, but until you get a chance to get both in your hands, it will be hard to choose.

I agree!

cousin said he had daiwa sent in to be fixed they sent it back and wouldn't do anything for him  he had a abu Garcia that he sent in they couldnt fix. did not make that model any more but replaced it with comparable reel  so he let daiwa know that he would buy from abu Garcia from now on instead of them.  hope this is helpful in your search. happy new year and tight lines  lonnie

Both are good quality reels. Strongly feel it will be a what's more comfortable to you decision. However that many different techniques I'd suggest going down to a 6.3:1 gear ratio.

Not 100% sure what reels we are talking about. Are you talking about the US Casitas or the JDM Casitas MGL? Also are you talking about the older or standard Tatula or the Tatula CT?

Which one has an aluminum frame?

The CT is all aluminum.

I haven't fished the Casitas but the Tatula line is fantastic. I now have a CT, Type R, and a Tactical.
