I've noticed on a couple of different sites that a lot of the Abu Garcia rods and reels are going for 20 to 25% off.....wonder if they are updating some of their lines or if they just have overstock? 

I'd say updating. The revo g3 have been out for quite awhile now. And with the updates on the Mgx and Xtreme, a gen4 series is likely coming out soon.

Agree with Smelter... definitely going to see some updates coming. However, the Veritas 2.0 on sale at TW surprised me since it seems like it was just recently updated. Shimano and Daiwa have really stepped their game up since the g3 Revos came out and it will be interesting to see what Abu does with the g4's.

Not sure which it is, but glad for the sale; picked up a frog rod.

I found an Abu Garcia 2017 catalog online, it had the new MGX, MGX Extreme and the new ALX, but still had the Gen 3 Revos. Odd that they would publish it if they are updating the Revos....

There is a post from a couple of weeks ago saying that Pure Fishing is being sold off piece by piece...including Abu Garcia. Perhaps that has something to do with it? Guess we will see.
