Best super smooth reel?

Featured Replies

Decided on a DX 745C for my pitchin' needs and as everyone knows, you need a super smooth reel for a pitchin setup if you want distance.  This will be for jigs and rigs 3/8 oz and up and bubba shot - mainly around cover or deep water.  I don't really want to spend more than $350us.

For context this will fill the slot between a DC 703C paired with a Metanium HG (JWR)  and an IMX 945C FPR (Flip/Punch/Frog) paired with a Tatula type R.

TIA!

I'd throw a Daiwa SV103 on it.

I love the Shimano Core 100mg7. I fish it with stock bearings and its amazing.

2 votes for Daiwa, 2 for Shimano....  So far I'm leaning towards the Zillion.  The finesse reels aren't on my list.

Shimano Metanium 13 or the new MGL version.  Best reel/smoothest I currently own with a Aldebaran a close second.

Agreed, already own one but I like to have a variety of different reels.  I see some guys with a number of the same reels, I'm the opposite, I prefer a wide variety (not sure why exactly..lol).  The only reel I have multiples of is the Chronarch Ci4 and the Stradic Ci4, and then its only 2 of each.

Maybe a zillion tw sv? Great for pitching

This will prob. be the one.  I can get it from Digitaka for $250.

I can't swing the cost of the higher end Shimano's but my Curado 71XHG is the smoothest reel I've ever used. Stock bearings.

If you can wait until March as I am, the new Daiwa Tatula will have the SV TWS and is rumored to retail around $200
