Reel Tech question

Featured Replies

I'm looking to replace the entire clutch bar assembly including the cam & return pawl with springs on a Carbonlite/PQ reel.

How are clutch bar plates attached?  I was told they just snap in by BPS Outdoor World.

I believe they have a small snap ring that keeps it in place

I took my pro qualifier apart last month and I believe they do just snap in. Rather loosely at that, I remember having issues keeping both in place when putting the clutch bar back in.

Can you describe what you're calling the clutch bar? Are the plates the spacers between the thumb bar and frame? If so they just plug into the frame. If you want to call me I'll walk you through fixing it. 973-459-2835

I guess the clutch bar would just be the thumbar. Yes, the plastic pieces between the bar and the frame.  Thanks, hopefully I won't have to bother you.

The thumbar is a bit hard to engage. Hopefully polishing the pawl and cam will help with that?  I think that's what they are called.
