Just saw that Cabela's is now carrying unpainted strike King cranks, unfortunately not the RES. I am curious though how these would fish unpainted in clear water? Any thoughts?

Tons of people are painting baits and its a way for them to sell a product for people who want to do it themselves.  I have not seen the sk bait but i am seeing more and more companies doing it.

Wish they'd come out with a Baby 1 minus clear/unpainted.

The bummer is they seem to be only 50 cents cheaper on the smaller SB and a buck cheaper on the 8.0 SB. Will be curious to see if other stores get them too. They really need to do the RES in the clear too. 

 

As for other brands, I would take a 20 pack of clear bandit 100s

I have a clear one.  It was a normal one, that I sanded all the paint off.  It didn't take long at all.  And it's my #1 One Minus Crankbait now, covered in chew marks

Yeah I've thought bout saving some old ones that get worn out & paint chipped off. It doesn't take long to chip the paint of the chrome ones, especially on a couple lakes I fish. They absolutely crush a chrome with dark back. Have had a few days where the chrome paint was mostly chipped off after only 1 day on the water. ?
