This is my third dopey question in the forum, I made a deck extension on the deck of my skeeter didn't want to buy a large amount of glue. Any suggestions on what kind of adhesive to use roughly 3 by 3.

I would just go buy some 3M spray glue and reinforce with some 3/8" staples. Pull the carpet back then staple and the piling should hide the staple just fine.

Make sure to use stainless steel staples.  The carpet may hide the staples, but it won't hide the rust.

I'd suggest rubber cement as well. I had some carpet coming unglued from a compartment lid from age and constant rubbing, dabbed some of that on there and it hasn't budged since.
