Mojo bass 6'8 whacky spinning rod

Featured Replies

Since I always get well informed answers on here thought I'd try again I'm on the hunt for a new spinning rod for light tw light Texas rigs 1/8oz weights etc and other finesse applications for skinny Creek and river sm I was looking at the mojo bass 6'8 m/xf and was wondering if I could use that not only for the whacky rig as listed but also the presentation I mentioned above or would the 6'10 ml be better choice I held the rods and they felt pretty good with the stradic fk 2500 I have

It is a great whacky rod.  Great tube rod too.

I think it will be fine for what your going to be using it for.

Great rod I have one that I fished with all last summer/fall and love it. I have used it for mainly weightless Texas rigs and tubes but have used smaller paddle tail swimbaits with good results.

Great rod choice from a great company.

Thanks guys I forgot  to mention the user of tubes I'm actually embarrassed ha but that's what I needed to hear cause i mean it will be uses for 98% soft plastic with occasional hardbait so it sounds like that's the rod then luckily bps has spring fishing classic about to kick off so I can do a rod trade in

I think that rod is one of the best rods in their lineup as far as the Mojo bass goes.  IT will do what you would like it to do and do it well.

One of my favorite rods of all time.............and I think I am going to re-add it to my arsenal now that the are coming in the SCIII blank.

This is why I always ask here cause the responses I get always help me u guess I'm gonna get a rod after all at the fishing classic I was a little put our by bps rod choices lately even cabelas has more choices which was shocking to me but hey saving 20/30$ I'm not gonna argue with I never had a st croix before and was gonna get the avid x would that he a better choice or is the mojo a better choice for the price point and all that

The avid of is a decent rod but the mojo is better the guides are stronger and the blanks on the rod are also significantly stronger and sensitive I think you should go mojo!

That's what u was leaning to also and the guides on the avid x I saw are a little small and I use braid with a fc leader and I'm. Worried about the knit passing thru the guides

I have one and it's one of the best all around spinning rods I've owned. I fish braid to a leader on mine and there's no issues with the knot going through the guides.

What kind of knot. Do you use for the leader connection
