Favorite baitcast reel of the 1990's

Featured Replies

I've restarted my collection of early 90's baitcaster reels. I only have about 12 of them as of now but bless eBay for it's never ending supply!   I'm hoping some of you would give me some feedback on either their favorites or ones they hated.  My favorite was an Abu Garcia XLT two speed.

Curado 200B, can't say more. I got Abu XLT Plus and 521 XLT Plus.

Welcome aboard, David!

I never fished baitcasters until the 2000s...so no

help there :) Never really interested in them until

then. And now that I've gone there, I've gone back

to mainly spinning!

Thanks Darren.  Most of my fishing is done with spinning gear up here.  I'm a big Daiwa spinning reel fan as of now.  Some things I just love a good baitcaster with and have maybe 10 new LP ones I use with the early ones.  A nice Friday night is completely disassembling and cleaning a good vintage baitcaster.  The spinning gear just isn't as satisfying to maintain!

Now there's a new reason for spinning gear

superiority!!! LOL. Good on ya, mate! :D

I've got a Mitchell accupro acp600 from my grandfather that is pretty interesting. Also a shimano bantam 100 that is older but just as cool. I have cleaned them both up but never casted either. They have a special spot in the tackle room to be displayed in.
