Just preordered the jade python spinning rod yesterday, I cant get over how awesome these rods look. Nice price point too, with a full warranty through TackleTrap even though theyre JDM.

 

 

 

Im getting the Destruction and the Rattle Viper!

 

Hope they are as sensitive as the XX line. The low price point has me a bit worried!

I was looking forward to them but not so much any more. They use the same reel seat as the 16 destroyer series. For me that means I can't buy one. I had a 16 destroyer and returned it after 1 day. The trigger on the reel seat was very uncomfortable to me. I made a post when the spy shots were first released a couple months ago if the xxx. The aesthetics of it are awesome and the lower price isn't too concerning. The levante was a bust though so hopefully the xxx isn't as bad. Also the majority of the lineup is on the short side. I wanted a 7ft + jig rod. 

i wasnt too excited about the aesthetics of the 16 destroyers and passed when they were released but these look much better. what about the reel seat was uncomfortable? looks similar to shimano's ci4+ reel seat.

The trigger is very short and how I grip the rod it dug into my ring finger bad.

got it. thx for the info. had high hopes for the xxx series from the pics. it's a shame as i'm not really feeling the new USA destroyers which look similar to the 16 destroyers...

The 16 destroyer was a let down to me. Larger guides than the xx series and the blank seemed to be lacking a bit.

I gave them the look and that F3 spinning rod might be in the stable soon enough.  It looks like they are using taller small guides like i want, which means i can give these a try vise a custom...

I had been tossing around the idea of getting a Levante. What was so bad about them?

Id just spend the extra money and get the xx. Or of course wait and try out the xxx. From what I understand its not like the levante is a terrible rod or anything, but people love the xx rods so much, its worth the extra money.

You can grab a used xx for $180-230 depending on the model and if you're at the right place at the right time so to speak. The levante rods can be tip heavy and the blank is said to feel a bit dead.
