@Bantam1 Can you identify this model? having trouble finding the exact model number, gear ratio, etc.

(Also getting conflicting stories, I've heard the 100A does not have a Super Free spool, but has a nut cap. Mine has a nut cap and a "Super Free" sticker on the spool...)

Go to TackleTour and then the REVIEW ARCHIVE.  There is an article on the Chronarch 100A, 100SF and 100MG.

If I died tomorrow, whenever my wife had the garage sale all my St Croix elites would be $20.  She has no point of reference.

Have you ever had the joke, "My greatest fear is that my wife will sell my fishing stuff for the price I TOLD her I payed for them..." ;)

Went fishing with it today, its a truly amazing reel for being so old. It feels as smooth as a 2016 model reel in the hand.

Never found any great deals on fishing gear at a thrift store, but I found a Gibson guitar that was priced $50.00 that I sold on eBay for almost 2 grand (I don't play guitar).

I recommend keeping that one covered.

X2.  Got lazy one day and didn't put my reel covers on when we moved a short distance to another lake.  Did the El Cheapo Trion get any boat rash?  No.  My near mint Chronarch 101A did.  :(  Lesson learned.  Now I won't even put a rod down while fishing without taking the time to put a reel cover on.

Karma  . . Karma . . Karma . . most of those thrift stores exist to fund some charity or cause, which on some level is probably worthy.   That reel was mis-marked because some pricing volunteer didn't know what they had.  I'd consider throwing them another $30 - $40 and you'd still have a great deal.

You got a GREAT deal and you don't have to do anything, consider whether the charity should be shorted because of some volunteer error.

I have overpaid there many a time, I think we're even now. ;)
