so im gonna replace the plug for the battery receptacles on my sun dolphin sportsman and im going to run new wires for the boat while im at it. but i was wondering what kind of adhesive would be best for keeping the top half and bottom half of the boat where the rivets are waterproof. im thinking of a 2 part epoxy but if a caulk would work that would be easier to deal with and cheaper. so if anyone has any experience with this or other suggestions would be really appreciated.

Don't know if this will help or not...several years ago, i put a hole in the bottom of my two man boat.  I stuffed it full of steel wool and then sealed it up with the two part epoxy from Golfsmith, the kind they use to put the heads of golf clubs onto the shafts.  Have had absolutely no problems...it's completely waterproof and has never leaked.

3M 5200 Marine Sealant. It is slow to dry and can sag but once it dries it is tough and waterproof.

Flex Seal, of course.

Not sure if you were serious about the Flex Seal but I used it and its worked so far. Not sure how long but it surprisingly has worked for me.

Well I was half serious.

It was used on TV to cover a screen door for the bottom of a boat. The new tape was used to put a boat back together that had been cut in half.

I use it for various things around the house.

"Only $19.95, but wait,  you can get two for $19.95, just pay additional shipping and handling."

I would consider automotive seam sealer.

3M makes some great products that are easily applied and remain flexible but strong.

Any parts store that sells paint supplies can hook you up.

those are some good suggestions. i wouldnt personally use flex seal. i work at a hardware store and hear more fails  than success but if its working for you thats great. after a lot of researching going to use the 2 part for a more permanent adhesive. use some sheet metal screws with a screw glue and probably a 3m caulk as a finishing water sealer. imma install the battery ports, fish finder, run the cables for the ff threw the hull, some clips for oar/net, pole holders, and rudder this week. i guess il see what works best lol. hopedully wont have to re do any of this.
