Rapala?

Featured Replies

I've been meaning for several

years to create some kind of little display with some older lures and equipment that my grandad had. I'd like to use some of the more unique and older stuff that he had boxed up.

There's a jerkbait that says Finland on the bottom. Says Finnish wobbler on the box. Nowhere does it say rapala but I have other lures that are called a wobbler that do have rapala on the lip as well

as the box. My assumption is that this one is just a little older version. Is that the case?   Just curious. I can and have googled it some but I'd like to tap the knowledge base on here. I'd like to not have anything this display (if i

ever actually get it done) that I don't have some solid info

on.

Thanks

One picture says more than a thousand words, post a picture.

I'm thinking what @Raul said seems to cover it.  Post a photo of the lure in question.

Also, please post pictures of your display(s.)  My wife has tinkered with a few different ways to display my grandfather's lures.  Its been very satisfying.

"Wabbler" is a European term for a casting lure. Sounds like you probably have an early Rapala. I believe it became the "Finnish Minnow" for export. But some real early ones were being brought over to the US.

Here's one of them with the box. The lip has pretty well disintegrated.

I still haven't actually put anything together. I'm not sure how I want to do it yet. Thoughts on that are welcome.

I don't have any recent pics, I'll take a couple this weekend.  Wife tried some glass door curios, but I like this spoon rack.  Also, we found an old glass top table with display space below the top at an antique store that we use.   Pics later....

Thanks for sharing, now the sad part, it's not a Rapala lure.

I appreciate the info!

The good news is, according to the tag, he only paid $.99.

I like it!  The glass top table would be cool as well.
