Fort Stewart has some great fishing in the Ponds, the Savannah River is also a great bass fishing river, from the tidewater up to Agusta, my personal best came from the river just south of Hardeville SC. There are numerous bass clubs in the area that are always looking for members, good luck.

If you google "FT Stewart Fishing", the top link will be their page that tells all about the ponds on base, where they're at and how to get a permit. My PB came on one of the ponds on base but I've seen pictures and base in the ponds that are double that weight

Are the ponds fishable by kayak?? And is the river fishable from a kayak

I know the ponds are, you can have a boat with a trolling motor on them and I see guys in kayaks in the ponds all the time. As for the river I know you can have boats but I'm not 100% sure on the rest of the rules or how fast it gets. The website has the policy letter that says all the rules. Only thing I would be worried about is the alligators but most of them aren't really aggressive. The only downside is there are weeks like this week where there is literally no ponds open on ft stewart

Aint worried about the gators coming from louisiana lol that sucks they close em down

I'm not sure, I'm 2 weeks into 3 weeks of leave and just got back today. They had them closed last week and so far this week up to Thursday. Possibly doing work, controlled burns and stuff. There's another decent size pond in town I've been to once before. Probably check it out again this week to see if it's gotten better. Also gonna look into the PFAs (public fishing areas) but that's another $20 license. I've read about a bill dance signature lake 30mins from base but from what I've read it's in a gated community

Dang Do you just bank fish? Or boat/kayak

Just bank for right now. Trying to find a good used job boat to use.
