I get the feeling the spro rat I bought a few months ago is going to be the worst lure I ever bought, and most expensive.

Specifically the black one or the bait in general? I freaking love those things up where I fish at least.

I have the black one w/ yellow accents and the bone colored one. Neither one has produced. For a $15 lure it was a total bust. After an hour of using it in the early morning I switched to a Heddon Spit'N Image and caught a bass in less than 5 minutes.

I got the black one to try her out. Nada thus far. Still have it though, so I'm hopeful.

I'm surprised by the above comments that you guys aren't getting bit on the plopper and those colors in general.  I only throw the 130 and was skeptical of the lure at first. But when they want to eat it, it's more like they want to kill it. Just keep chucking it, it'll pay off!

I don't know if I got a faulty Abu Garcia rod and reel combo, but that was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. I thought I was just bad at baitcasters, but then I bought a Lew's Speed Stick. Now I can fish...

Any Spiderwire line.  Worst line ever for me.

I have found that I don't catch a ton of fish on the plopper but when I do they are good ones. Unless I am around smallies then I can catch numbers. Bass seem to be very particular about size and color when they eat the plopper. I've had buddies outcatch me 10 to 1 because I had a different size or color. I'd say keep throwing it and they'll pay off soon enough.

I would have to say, the first bass rod and reel I ever bought, since then I have spent a lifes fortune chasing them big mouths.
