I didn’t see the point in starting a new thread when this one was hear allready. Found it while researching before I bought the flourocote.

Couldn’t find any 20lbs stren flouro so I started searching eBay and Picked up 20lbs 300 yards of kastking flouro kote for $9.50 free shipping off of eBay.  I want it just for tying leaders onto my 30lbs braid rod.  Worth a shot for under ten bucks.  maybe I will try as main line.

any one else since 2017 using it for main line?

I gave it a shot last year. will not be using it this year. It was manageable and casted decent on a spinnng reel.

The main problem I had with it was it stretches like a rubber band. I have never used a line that stretches as much as Fluorokote.

As a leader I suppose it would be ok.

I'm actually happy to hear that.  Thinking about trying it to crank on graphite.

I found this interesting. I actually like that the line diameters are different as this further highlights differences.

Sounds like it’s at-least worth a shot for leader material. If I don’t like it I’m not out much. I’ll keep every one posted

The description of the product is no different from other fluoro coated copolymers like Pline CX and I doubt the technology used to produce it is any better.

True flourocarbon IS the leader material of choice for line shy fish for a reason ... no reason to experiment

I dont doubt it. I myself fish YZH mainly.

My argument was that if your only goal is invisibility you should go for pure fluorocarbon

Well, price has to come in somewhere at the moment.  I’m not doubting pure flouro is better at being invisible.  I just put some segar red label on on m/l spinning reel.  For that particular rod I just want the leader line to not stand out as much as main line braid.

honestly This only my 3rd summer of using bait casters and I do back lash occasionally.  I feel better about re-spooling flouro Coated line than the expensive good stuff.

I tried it last year, it was fine-zero issues. It was 15 lb test and I used it for Rat L Traps.

I used the KK line the year before last (bought about 55,000 yards) and changed back to the P-Line Flouroclear last year. I had tons of line breakage issues that I didn't have with the P-line and don't have now with the P-line. I could see in a few instances where the line was thinner in spots. Maybe the KK Flourocoat is better now.

If it works for you congrats because the price was/is certainly right. But for me, after I figure in lost baits, it was a pretty expensive experiment. Expensive enough to keep me from buying any KK line again.
