Me and some of my friends have woodshop class and want to build a boat to go fishing in. I was just curious if anyone here has ever built a boat and if so what do I need, I am looking for a 2-3 seater to build. Any help would be apreciated

Money! Marine grade plywood aint cheap  

I've built several and wouldn't use anything but marine grade   8-)

If you are trying to save costs in my opinion save your money and forget the building. You can find a john boat for $600 - $800 with a trailer and a motor. When you were done it wouldn't be as heavy as a tank and it woulldn't leak! If you just want to make one for the heck of it and work your tails off though then by all means go for it.

Yes wooden hulls are heavy, but they don't leak, and the feeling you get from building one from scratch is awesome.
