Have used spider wire ultra cast for years with great results in fact my only source of frustration was how difficult it could be to pull snagged lures free from unseen underwater obstructions, usually was able to move boat without breaking the line necessitating cutting off the line rather than risking a broken or damaged rod. However about two weeks ago I was at local wal mart and needed some new braid so I picked up a couple of rolls of 20# Ez braid to try. What a disappointment this turned out to be in three trips I have experience 4 line failures during long casts and lost two really nice fish n jumps with 5' of boat. All told this has cost me about $32.00 in line since the remainder will be going in the garbage can and $45 in lost lures and tackle. Not sure what others experience has been but would strongly advise you to steer clear of this product

A search on this forum would've saved you a lot of time, frustration and some money. Most here will agree SW ez braid sucks. The end

EZ braid is Spider Wire's lowest line of braid so there shouldn't be high expectations for it. We live and we learn.

I believe I tried some on a backup spinning reel. One of my primary reels went down and after 1 day of use I stripped it all off and spooled with something else. I never had high expectations for it, but it underwhelmed even my lower expectations.

I've got some 6lb on an ultralight setup for casting light flies. I've used it for maybe a couple hours and it's fuzzy. I should have spent a couple more dollars and got power pro. 

My biggest rule is never skimp on line and hooks. Spending just a bit extra for quality line and terminal tackle will save you from a lot of heartache and frustration.

That stuff is trash. I had the same experience on a spinning rod with 20lb test. I could snap that line with my hands.

Lost a really nice snook at the boat with that line. Right after that trip I ripped it out and tossed the rest of the spool. I would have taken it out back and burned it but it didn't deserve any more of my time or effort.

The Spiderwire Ultra is good stuff. I use that sometimes but I prefer the Daiwa J-Braid as it frays a little less. I've never tried the EZ braid, but I've only heard bad things about it so I've stayed away.

With Spider Wire Stealth about $9ish a spool at Walmart, there is no need to go any cheaper than that on line. Stealth is a very good line. I have been a die hard original Power Pro user for years, but switched to Stealth after my local Walmart quit carrying power pro last year. I like it a lot, and it's just as good, if not better/smoother than PP.

Exactly! My Walmarts don't sell 300 yards ofthe Spider Wire Stealth unfortunately, but 150 yards is cheap enough and I get the Daiwa J-Braid on Amazon for $17-22 depending on the day. Many EZ Braid spools on Amazon are actually more expensive than that, and it's braid, you don't have to replace it often.
