When you are sold a new boat in California

Featured Replies

Is the dealer required to include any safety items?

Like say, the Coast Guard Package?

My boat I am buying is a 16 foot bass boat.

I bought my boat from a dealer in northern california about 4 years ago,and I did not recieve anything like that. Your dealer might be different though.

I doubt it. You can often negotiate those items into the final sale price.

if its a new boat it should include  fire extinguisher  ....lights  bow and stern.....  and a single paddle...everything else youll have to purchase

those items are up the the owner to buy.

The last Ranger I bought in 2000 was a 520 DVX.  It only came with a fire extinguisher.  The Z22 came with the same -

make that part of your deal, there is a lot of profit in those boats, right now boats, rvs, dune buggies etc. are not selling very good, it may because of homes sales are falling.

good luck, they are not going to let you walk , for those small items.
