Hey guys pretty new to the forums. I've made my own frog like the Teckel Sprinker by putting a split ring over the hooks and connecting it to a barrel swivel and a twist lock bait keeper. Everything works and looks great except for the swimbait trailer. I've only tried several different ones but they do not churn water like I want it to. I think the paddle tails are too thin to really make a lot of commotion on the water though it does look pretty good still. Any suggestions of swimbaits made of thicker plastic or that have bigger paddle tails that won't fold back easily going through the water? Thanks for any suggestions.

Yeah this is the video I used to make mine. Just seeing if there's better ideas for swimbaits or other plastics to use as trailers. Might even try cutting a ribbon tail worm or using a grub too. 

I just tried my own creation. It caught a bass

i used a duolock snap instead of a split ring cause that's what I had. 

I used a good swivel from my salmon bag. 

And I used a swim senior for the spinning part. 

It doesn't churn as much as a toad but it floats so it is easier fish slower. 

But that was fun watching the blowup and setting the hook

 

The best method I've seen so far was posted on FB by John Crews. It's far more secure and a lot less gaudy looking than the others using big split rings and extra hardware. The action is also spot on.

That's good thinking. I didn't have a split ring big enough either. I cut up an old spinnerbait and ran the wire thru the hook hole on the body up to the eye and wrapped it on the front eye. Then put a swivel on the wire and a keeper that I screwed into a swimbait tail. But I have some speed clips and I'm going to redo it. Thanks.
