Follow the weight recommendations on the rod and you'll be fine.

for some reason the ugly sticks i have only tell me the line size and size of rod lol

but a generic stick i have says the recommend size but thats a 6ft stick.

Most medium rods are 1/4-5/8, that can vary a little, so will go up to 3/4, some as low as 1/8 on spinning rods. I'd say if you don't go over 3/4 of an ounce you'll likely be okay.

First, action has (usually) little to do with the size or weight of the bait. Power? Yes, probably.

Second, rod length should not be a function of your height (or lack thereof).

I've got rods that are 8' that I use with no problems. Not sure what your height has to do with the rods you use?

I'd go with your standard lure weights for other rods with those ratings. Keep it between about 1/8-5/8 on the spinning rod, 1/4-3/4 on the casting rod and you'll be fine.
