I want to start throwing swimbaits not big any where from 4 to 7 inch swimbaits mainly treble hooks. S wavers/bullshads what's a good rod action/power. if anyone knows a good rod just let me know 

The Dobyn's 795 is what I use , I think you will be very happy with that. They now have a version in the Fury line which I understand is more affordable but performs nearly as well as the 3 Champion series rods that I have .

Also use the 795 for baits like you listed. 

If your budget is limited the FR 795SB Dobyns Fury rod is a good choice, also a good for rat and wake bait 1 to 3 oz.

Using a MH Crankbait rod, fiberglass all the way. To me glide baits seem like big cranks with all the trebles. Just happens to be a Tatula Elite Brent Ehler designed for spinner n chatterbaits along with cranking.

The smallest 120 S-Waver and 5" TJ Bull Shad weigh over 1 1/4 oz, too heavy for a MH  crankbait rod. You can use whatever you like, but I dought you use it for the lures he asking about.

The rod is rated to 2oz and no I'm not throwing anything over 2oz. My intentions are for S-Waver 120 and Gantrel jr, both are less than 2oz. 

The Dobyns Fury 795 and the 806 swimbait rods is what i use to cover all sizes. They have the perfect actions imo.

I don't know of a MH crankbait rod rated over 1 oz, what make and model are you recommending?

The 7’4” Brent Ehler rated to 2oz, there’s also a 7fter and 8fter but 8fter seems over the top.

Any thoughts on that rod for small weedless swimbaits, like the 68 Special or Huddgill?  A 10" Spro Rat at 2.5oz is about as heavy as I can see myself going but my current heaviest rod (a Fred's Magic Stick) feels over powered with the rat.
