Looks smaller than my best September LMB. I didn't have a scale and thought she was 4 lbs. Who knows? Anyone have a guess?

The bass your friend caught looks more like this one I caught from about 2 weeks ago and she was definitely only about 3 lbs, MAYBE.

Use the length estimation of 4" for hand length and calculate the weight based on "your" length estimate...you caught the bass!

Easy answer is between 3 & 5 pounds. :)

And welcome aboard, @Charles Pryor III!

Next purchase - a scale! Then we'll know for sure! :)

20-21 inches so 4-5 lbs there about. What I figured. The second one was shorter so pretty sure she was 2.5-3 lbs, which is what the bass in the OP appears to be.

1/2" max extension from the upper lip, then to the center of the tail. The bass needs to 20" to approach 5 lbs unless it's a heavy body bass and it isn't! I use 75% of the length to equal girth of unknown girth measurements.

PS, It's my formula!

I gave up on math when they told me that infinity minus infinity is any quantity you want it to be. If we could accelerate that bass to the speed of light....
