Ok everyone kinda curious for those of you that live in states that have toothy critters ie pike and musky if any of you throw hudds or little creepers or anything like that anf have success and what do you use to help lower the chances of those pike and muskies from getting it

I dont really think there is any real way to lower the chances. anything a bass would eat a pike or musky would easily eat too but i have found pike tend to strike a bait rather than inhale it like bass do

I know that anything a bass will eat a pike will also i was more talking about them cutting the line with their teeth

Luck of the draw, unless you run a wire leader.  Sometimes they'll get you're line, sometimes they won't. Wire leader is about you're only option.

I played around with some hard bodied swimbait's and 6-9in paddle tail swim baits with 3/4-1oz lead heads. I didn't catch any giants on them but I did catch some 4 to 4.5lb largemouth. Definitely will catch pike and muskie but I didn't find it any different than losing jigs or crankbaits to them. However I would be afraid of throwing a Huddleston or Bull Shad without heavy braid and maybe even a wire leader to much money to lose on a pike with fluorocarbon.
