Have a couple spinnerbaits with tarnished and pitted blades on them. The Colorado blades on them are pitted a bit but still have some shine to them. The willow leaf blades are very dull and tarnished. Fish them? Of thrown them out?

Might sound crazy but a dab of ketchup on a rag and rub to brighten them up. I read it on here years ago. It's a cheap way to bring them back and more than likely  you have that at home. 

You could always just change the blades out for new ones it doesn’t take long at all and would save you a few bucks versus buying new baits

You may need something a little more abrasive than ketchup to bring back the luster.  Any metal polish like brass or chrome polish will have a similar affect when it comes to removing the tarnish. The other plus is they contain a mild abrasive that'll remove some of the minor pitting.  What ever you use, give the blades a coat of wax to delay the onset of more tarnishing.

Thank you!! Ketchup worked just fine for now. Kinda just needed to clean them up in a pinch. I wasn't planning to fish today, and I haven't been out in months so my gear has been neglected for a while.

Oh, absolutely throw them out, along with the car when the tires wear out

 

Seriously though, you can use vinegar or old school toothpaste (if you can find some) or products made specifically to polish metal. You can also easily replace them. They are cheap and take a minute or less to do. Don't overlook fishing them as is.

Be careful using metal polish on the brass tho. I've had it take the color off. The acid in ketchup works pretty good. You just have to make sure they don't want mustard that day....

Use some toothpaste to shine them back up.
