My new boat!

Featured Replies

I finally got IT!!!!

I've been looking for months, and finally found something in my price, year and model range.

I just went and picked it up today, it's a 2001 Champion 203 SC w/ a 225 Mercury OptiMax...

It's 20' 3" and a fishin' machine!

I also picked up some new Lowrance electronics for it, a LCX-28c HD,... Now I just have to find the time to put it on

This boat will FLY....

If anyone is ever down in GA or AL, hit me up... we'll go fishin' !!!!!!!!!

Nice rig!!You've bought yourself quite possibly the best rough water ride available.  My first bass boat was a Champion and at just 17'6" the ride was WAY above the 18' Ranger and 20' Triton that followed.  I'd buy another if I were looking.

Sweet Ride  ;)

Good taste in boats.  ;)

Those 90" Champions handle very much like the 86" I've got,  Like a sportscar on water.  You'll have a blast.   8-)

Definately a sweet ride, have fun!

That is really a nice looking rig.  I have a Champ and they are fine boats.  Is this your first Optimax?

Sweet looking Champ you got there! And you'll really appreciate that Optimax when you go for long runs across the lake. Be safe.

lol. Yup, my first optimax! Actually, my first motor made after 1988'  :-?

You gonna be doin' much fishing on the Dead Sea?  (Allatoona for yall nonlocals.)

I never rode in one, but there's a lot of Champions just like yours up here on Lake Erie. There are rougher waters around (Lake Ontario is one), but not many rougher than Erie, and the Champions always got back on time, with everybody in one piece. That's more than could be said for a lot of boats, so you've got a fine one.

I don't have a big-water rig anymore (had a 22-foot Stratos), but if you find yourself up north, I'll show you the way we catch brown bass in the smallmouth capital of the world.  :;) JC

Optimax had a bad rap for a while.  My tech says the biggest problem he has encountered is people not letting them warm up before they take off, especially in cold weather.  When I start mine I let it warm to 120° before I head out.

Here's a video showing the full capabilities of your boat. while the first half is most 184 Champs, the last half has got 201's on it. That was the 86" version of your hull. They barely changed it.

Nice video!

Yea, I've never fished Toona, but I plan to go someday.... ;D
