Hello,

I have a bow mounted depthfinder with the transducer built into the trolling motor.  I have another depthfinder at the console using a transom mounted transducer.  Both are 20' transducers.  Can I use both at the same time?  Will they interfere with each other?

Will they "conflict" with each other at deeper depths?

Please note both are "basic" depthfinders; no GPS.

Here is what it looks like on a friends SI unit.  The vertical lines are the interference.  

Change the ping rate on one of them so they're not the same.  That's step #1, and usually clears up most issues.

If they both run at the same kHz, yes they can interfere with each other.  It will usually be in pretty deep water.  You can minimize this by slightly changing the angle of the transom transducer to point more rearward.  When mine get to reading each other the digital depth readings go wild.

I run a Jet Outboard Drive with stick steering so I have one depth finder at my feet up front. I have two transducers, one at the transom and one on the trolling motor. I have a switch that when I am on the run I use the the transom transducer, while fishing I flip the switch and run the one on the trolling motor. I also use a flasher, in which I use most of the time up front as it is real time accurate and I like it better than a depth finder for most of my fishing.
