Major Craft nanoace 6'9MF

Anybody use this rod? Interested in how true the lure ratings are and how "fast" the rod action is. Sensitivity isn't a concern for what I want to use this for.

I recently field tested 3 different Major Craft rods for a local rep. I did not use the rod you mentioned, but the swimbait rod & a prototype crankbait rod IMO were overrated as to lure weight & action. As to the CB rod, it was truly a remarkable rod staying less than it's rating. The 3rd rod was the Don Iovino designed finesse spinning rod. It truly is the ultimate Ned Rig rod - a great value.

I have fished the Iovino finesse spinning rod and the Major Craft 7' MH fast rods. Both rods are lght weight and have fast tips with stronger lower rod power then most spinning rods. I prefer the 7' MH fast for general finesse applications because my preference for higher power rods, the Iovino model is a better drop shot rod, the MH fast better slip shot, light T-rigs, Senkos and small jigs.

I guess I should say the plan for this rod is for yellow magics , ricos and popx in the 1/4-3/8oz range. I can't find a lot on these rods except other models fish lighter than their ratings. My concern is if I go the 69 MF route the top end will be cumbersome but if I go the 69 MHF route the lower end won't load. My gut says the 69 MF will be ideal /w a major craft. I don't want to go /w the iovino models. The handle lengths are way too long for what I prefer in a popper rod.

The only model I have real experience with is the iovino, but I really like it. I've used it for 1/4-3/8 poppers in a pinch and while it does a good job, always felt a slightly slower action would be just about perfect. Assuming the power is close to the iovino, then go with the medium.

I had spinning rods on my mind? Major Craft Iovino Splash-It rod is my favorite in this brand and ideally suited for the lures you use. However, the handle is 11" from butt to trigger.

Which one do you have? The 610 or 68?

No sir. Sorry, I’m wanting casting. The 68 splash it rod would he ideal if it werent for that long handle.

I've got the 6'10". Too bad the handle on the 6'8" is so long, otherwise it might be just about perfect for you. If not the 6'9", what about the 6'6" crank/jerk? The handle is slightly longer than the 6'9" but not much

The action is worrysome to be honest. The crank/jerk rods were the first I looked at. I have a feeling I want to go with something non-crank thats fast and just hope it isnt a buggy whip.
