My son is hooked up with the G. Loomis purchase program. I was able to pick up a IMX-Pro 853C JWR for $130. Now I need a reel. So far I'm leaning towards a Daiwa Tatula SV TW 8.1. This will be my primary Senko / worm rod. Does this look to be a good combo?

Just kidding, sounds like a good combo, for me however I a step down on the ratio.  That’s just me though and how I fish a Senko.

Thanks guys. I agree on going with a slower model since this will be for Senkos primarily. One more question, is the SV TW really needed since I really wont be fishing light weight baits with this setup? On the bay I can darn near get 2 100HS's for the price of the SV TW. Just for comparison I'm replacing a Lamiglas Competitor and a 7 year old Revo S.  

If you are going to be doing any skipping?  I think that is the main advantage for the SV spool.  If not or if you’re a master skipper with a Senko, go with the non SV.

I have a MGX paired with a IMX and it is a match made in heaven.

I like the Daiwa Alphas reels for most anything under/around 1/2oz.  The sv105 is pretty easy to skip with and it very light weight for the price.  

You could ask him to use his discount to get you a new Curado K for $100 and save a couple bucks, but either reel should work fine for senkos.
