Other than the mgl spool does any know of an advantage to buying the chronarch G over the mgl for freshwater only?

Looking at the specs I don't see any difference.  For freshwater I would definitely use the MGL for its supposed advantage with lighter lures.

From what the shimy boys told me when it first came out, its just a saltwater version, but I like the look much more over the MGL

I own one  mgl in 621 but I need a 711 so I was contemplating wether to go with the G but I think I’m sticking to the mgl.

Only reason for the G is due to corrosion with the mgl spoil and salt water. My understanding is the spool is the only difference 

I would like to get the curado k but I personally can’t stand it for how heavy they made it, I’m going to sell off some gear and get another mgl was contemplating the g because it’s the latest new thing but I only fish fresh water and as long as there is no corrosion in fresh water over time I’m cool with it. I like the chronarch mgl because it feels so solid and cast weightless plastics well, and it’s light it’s expensive though. I would presume that the G probably cast weightless lures just as well and will probably out last the mgl? That’s kinda my concern with the mgl is that it will have corrosion issues with time even in fresh water? 

The only difference I’ve heard of is the spool, corrosion isn’t an issue for the MGL in freshwater, only saltwater. It sounds like whatever material they use for the MGL spool isn’t saltwater corrosion resistant, I think that you would be losing the MGL spool and not gaining anything by buying the G. The G spool is probably not as good as the MGL.

I live near the coast and I prefer to buy reels that are saltwater rated. So Ive looked into this as well. My thought process was that the g would be would be built all around better because of its saltwater ability. the shimano website states that the spool is the MAIN difference. So I would infer that there are others, they just aren't listed. 

I also stumbled upon a post on the tackletour forum where others were asking if they could simply buy the g spool and switch from fresh to salt. It was stated by Bantam1 that there were other differences that made the mgl version a better performing reel than the g. His advice was to buy an mgl for fresh water. He didn't specify what those differences were.
