Mojo Bass 7'1 MH-F Question's

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I just picked up a Mojo 7'1 MH-F, the tip on these seem a little more limber then some of the other brand rods.

Would this rod work for a variety of baits? I like to use it for T-Rigs, creature baits, smaller 1/2 oz spinner baits. Smaller crank baits..

I'm sure it might not be ideal for all, but I'm not the type that will have a ton of setups in the boat!

Also I was thinking of putting on a Tatula SV 7.3.1 ! Thanks for any info!

I was contemplating getting that exact rod.....so anxiously awaiting answers.

I picked one up today too, I’m going to probably go with a MH moderate fast. I’m going to fish the same stuff you are. Someone told me their MHMF Bass X rod worked well with cranks and still had enough of a hook set for jigs. Hope this helps.

I have this rod with a Tatula SV on it. I’ve only used it a handful of times since I bought it. I use it mostly for 3/8 to 1/2 ounce spinnerbaits. I used it to throw a Ratl-trap one day last fall and caught a 5 and a 7 pounder that day and it did well. It should do well for T-rigs.

I think it would be great for jigs and t-rigs, good for spinnerbaits/buzzbaits/chatterbaits, and adequate for crankbaits.

Awesome thanks for the replies!

How do you think a Curado 200 would match up with this rod? would it be a good reel with the wide range of baits? Ive read the Tatula SV is pretty good

I've fished the 7' mh-fast for the last 5 years, my favorite rod I've ever owned (disclaimer it's also the most expensive rod I've ever used so that may be a big factor in why I feel that way.)  Anyways, rod is great for t-rigs, c-rigs, jigs, and rattle traps.  Excels when fishing soft paddle tail swimbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and swim jigs in my opinion.  Not sure how much give you like in your cranking rod, but I love it for squarebills as well.  You can launch a fluke or senko, but the rod is too stiff to give them the action I like, if you just deadstick your flukes/senkos you'd be good to go though.  Really the only thing I don't like to use the rods for is deep cranks, it was an absolute workout trying to fish them on this rod.

Basically I don't think you can go wrong with one of these rods.  I fish lew's, but I would think it should pair nicely with the curado.

Theres a new rod out with 30 years of custom building behind them with a $130 price point and features honestly on $175-$220 rods!  Check them out at www.fxcustomrods.com.  HMU with any questions!

It is my favorite senko rod hands down. I have one spooled with mono for bigger moving baits, and another spoiled with braid for everything from wacky rigged senkos to Texas rigged worms. It will do ok for traps in grass but Im not a fan for using it with squarebill cranks though. I've tried it and lost to many big fish, even with mono and the drag backed off.  The tip is pretty fast. I ended buying a moderate action rod to compliment it for that purpose.
