Humminbird Base Map Updated.

At the start of each season as part of 'boat prep' - I update my Humminbird electronics software; today was that day.

I was very happy to see that Humminbird had made their updated Base Map data available (free) for download & eventual upload to my Helix units.

Seems it came out last May - guess I should check for updates a little more often.

This version is available as a built-in feature of the GPS-equipped HELIX G2/G2N Series and SOLIX Series models.  My units required the upload.

Basemap is built off of data from LakeMaster®, NOAA and other trusted sources. These accurate maps includes contours, navigation aids for more than 10,000 U.S. inland lakes which helps to provide a clear view of underwater terrain and surrounding points of interest.   Here's the link to the list of lakes (by state)  . . . . https://www.humminbird.com/uploadedFiles/Content/Category/Technology/HumminbirdBasemapLakeList.pdf

Basemap also offers precise charting data for the entire U.S. coast using NOAA:  with more than 200 icons and spot soundings.

This is still just a "Base Map" as far as contours goes - so it's not the 1-foot detail shown on the Lakemaster & Lakemater Plus cards.

But it's a Whole Lot better than it was.

If you've got a unit(s) that is compatible with this upgrade and you feel the need, you can get started here ~ https://www.humminbird.com/Category/Support/FAQ/MappingSoftware/

As far as I know (which isn't very much btw) the HDSI transducer is compatible with the Helix SI units and come standard with Helix 10 and 12.

Ok thanks wasent sure as it was hard to find clear info. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread.

You're good! If you haven't opened the transducer yet don't. Just exchange it for around $85. If you've already opened the stock transducer I have no clue how much the upgrade is.

186.95 bucks
