Tatula Question...

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've been using Lew's Tourney MB reels the last coupe years. I've added a couple rods and am thinking about trying one of the Tatula models. I've read that the different models may vary in size and since I can't find any local I'm wondering which one is closest in size to the Lew's since it works well for me when palming?

Thanks for your help!

For palming I would say get the Tatula ct. it’s a little smaller than the regular Tatula. They are great reels. Whichever one you get you won’t be disappointed.

The TWSV, CT and CT Type R are the closest to the MB.  The ergonomics are really nice and they are easy to palm. Pick any one as your budget permits.  If you can afford the 140.00 range the SV is an outstanding reel and can be found deeply discounted on line.

I have a CT type R and a Tournament MB. When palming the CT, you won't notice much different in the back, but the front is just a little longer, and definitely wider than the MB. To me, it seems like the CT has more weight in the front because of the extra width and the T Wing and I notice a little difference in the balance when it's on a rod. I've put them both on the same rod and feel the MB balances better. The Tatula is only a half ounce heavier but I think because more weight is at the front it affects the balance point. Hope that doesn't sound crazy lol.

Now having said all that, the CT is extremely smooth and solid and to me is the best caster of the two.
