Are you curious?
I’ll need to determine what application I want to use it for. The spool has reasonable line capacity and it comes in with a 7.6 :1 ratio and 100mm handle. I see it as a good candidate for pitching and Texas rigs although it casts so well it could be a good Jerkbait or lipless reel. Time will tell.

Are you curious?
I’m as curious as most guys and sometimes I get let down and sometimes I am rewarded. I came across a video that perked my interest. What was it for? The Piscafun Alloy M2. The views and commentaries seemed credible. Well I pulled the trigger in spite of my physical limitations and I’m happy to say this was a winner. I know I’m crazy to add another reel when my arsenal is already complete but I had an out if it didn’t meet my hopes. Honestly, I’m really impressed by this reel. Very impressed. I filled it with 12 lb mono and tied on a 5/16 ounce jig. Casting while wearing my restraint brace was a challenge but I was able to get a good feel for its performance. Again, I’m impressed. I like the smoothness of the gear train. I’m going out on a limb and rate this reel, durability aside as one of the best sub $100.00 reels out there. It reminds me of my Shimano Scorpion 70’s. The cast control is an inductor magnet control. Feels like a Tatula 100. I expect there will be more chatter in the weeks and months to come. One more option at a budget friendly price.

Double line through hook eye knots
Trilene knot for 60 years. I’m good to go.

Torn on the dropshot
Pick the hook to match the bait. Pick the rod to match the weight. I like A Jay’s response. The drop shot is a must on most bodies of water I frequent. It’s a confidence technique for me.

Your favorite jdm terminal
Daiwa Finesse Brave Z and Monster Brave Z Fluorocarbon lines are really good. Varavis wacky hooks and grenade sinkers are also a great deal. The hooks already mentioned are all excellent.

Urchin Baits
I’m waiting for Allen to develop a weighted single and treble hook specifically for urchin style baits. It’s what he does.

Fishing tubes for river smallmouth, do you prefer 1/4 or 3/8 and why?
Depth and current speed dictate the weight. Tubes need to be on the bottom for me and I drag them. It’s not an either or but which one in the conditions before me.

Upsizing my worm hooks
I was a bit perplexed at first regarding hooks breaking. After fishing for 55 years, I have only bent hooks and they were all treble hooks. The only hooks I’ve had break were bent and straightened by me. That practiced ended immediately. A bent hook is compromised and destined to break. I’ve had great success with Gamakatsu, Owner, Hyabusa, BKK, Varavis, and Decoy. I bought a reel from Digitaka two years ago and stocked up with Decoy’s at $2.22 per five pack. Just a thought.

Dirty water crank baits
Yo Zuri 3DB is a fantastic bait. They run 5-8 depending on line diameter. TW has them on sale right now at 25 percent off. This color is effective.

I have a few pencil baits with them. Smaller Spooks can run a feather treble as well. All my poppers have them.

Drop Shot Help
Try this. Run your main line the a black micro barrel swivel. Tie your hook to your leader material of choice leaving ample length above and below the hook. Tie your rigged leader to the swivel and add your cylinder style weight at 12 to 18 inches below the hook. Your hook choice will depend on the bottom composition. A nose hook may work but you might want to rig a Robo Rebarb straight shank hook Texas rigged. Just be aware that your swivel doesn’t pass through the tip. This works well for me.

Why don’t you say you don’t want to fish.
Update: I’m out or the restriction brace. I’m healing well. PT is going well and I have no pain. My PT told me I’m ahead of schedule and added, “don’t get cocky!” So measured common sense is a must. Best news is I should be cleared to fish by early September. Frogs and punching will be set aside. So I have that going for me.😃

Kidney stones
I’ve had numerous stones. Lithotripsy or lazer are the only measures that worked. Both procedures are fast and they put you under.
